In Alberta Canada, the goverment takes on paying the doctors and surgens and any other medical except: eyecare, ambulance, physio,specail family new baby rooms, and medication though are covered by blue cross. If the states had a real health care I would be so tempted to move from canada to the states.

pt 2The existing health care system is driven by pure greed and profit....there are perverse incentives to even keep people sick! lolUnless you're willing to simply let the poor all die in the streets...we already have universal "coverage" but it's at the tail end of life when the poor are at deaths door and the system will spend millions on ICU etc that fails or ends up becoming ongoing chronic expensive etc.Meanwhile humans suffer and even more money is wasted.It's cheaper to be good!

When you say that "anything the government touches immediately turns to crap" you are, in effect saying that government is categorically evil/bad etc.The problem isn't government; it's bad/corrupt government.Who corrupts government? The private sector.That's who pays the legalized bribery that created the current health care system.The answer is to raise consciousness and to clean up the corruption and pass laws that give people a decent life framework.Freedom includes order.see pt2

When have I stated that government wasn't necessary? However, we should try to keep it as small as possible, because we all know anything the government touchs immediately turns to crap. China is run under communism my friend. Profit runs the economy. There are more important things, but not in business

Without government, you would probably be dead right now....or you would be a slave to the local warlord. (Or maybe you would BE the local warlord....until someone more ruthless knocked you off)If you want to live in a land where pure unfettered capitalism.materialism is king, you should move to China.There are things in life far more important than the "profit" motive.

what is interesting I have seen people of other countries come to America just to get medical care. I mean their sole purpose is to come get treated and go home. But Americans themselves do not know how to work the system???

Tell me, when did I ever say I supported public education? I would love to get rid of this government sham, but obviously it will never happen. What is the responsiblity of a government? To protect citizens' rights. Healthcare and education are not rights. Things like the fire department, police, military, and transportation (i.e. roads) are rights. These are things the government should provide, however, why should the government force me to pay for someone else's healthcare?

digitalnow, I suggest you check your logic. Tell me, when you go into a store, do you go around take a bunch of stuff and just say "i need it"? No, that would be called stealing, but why do we support people who want to do it with healthcare. Remember, free healthcare isn't free, it's only free to those that DON'T pay taxes!

Okay, sitdown248, if you are not kidding, about people living without health care, and lazy people not being worthy of health care, then you need to turn off the hate media, turn off the corporate speaker on the Fox news show who is being paid to be there by the health insurance company. Get a book on logic, and start thinking.
