Sounds like Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass. They were very popular 1966-67. I don't recognize the song, though.

I love that long blue dress with blue hat at 2:50 but I'd never wear boa feathers because like Sir Paul McCartney I'm for PETA. This was a very interesting video thank you for posting! Groovy Fashions!

Were you able to find the name of the instrumental? I'm interested too. There was mention of James Last but he made too many vinyls.

Loved the false eyelashes and the Mary Quant hairstyles - but the dickie ... that was a first for me.

This appears to be 1966 I guess.I visited Hung On You which was the only really avant garde boutique featured.Carnaby Steet was finished by then .Carnaby street was finished by 1964.My favouite boutique at time was Just Men where I had various garments made . It was in Tryron street off Kings Road.

What a time! I'll never forget when "Austin Powers" came out back in '97 I thought, "This is so cool, now kids my age will actually know something about places like Carnaby Street!" Being a '60s nut since I was all of 10 I already knew about this scene. All these young people were playing "Revolver" and "Sgt. Pepper" in their bedrooms and turning on to the new sounds of Pink Floyd and Jimi Hendrix. What a friggin' time to be alive! |
